Providing a safe, inclusive and child friendly environment for families to re-connect with each other.

Connect offers supervised contact, supported contact, handovers, letterbox contact, provision of court reports and children’s views. Referrals can be received from solicitors, social workers, advocacy workers or any other professional.

As the service grows the aim is to provide further services for post-order contact and sibling contact. Our goal is to integrate other services with Connect in the future and be able to provide a vast range of services to local families including alternative therapies.

Services

Supervised Contact – Connect will accommodate supervised contact between children and parents in a safe environment. A detailed report of the supervised contact will be provided to the court to assist with its future decision making.

At a supervised contact session two specifically trained Child Contact Centre Workers will be present and supervise the contact on the day. At least one will be in the room at all times to observe, listen to and take notes of the interaction between the adult and child. These notes form the basis for the report provided to the court.

Supported Contact – Connect will support children to have contact with their parent in a relaxed setting, whereby the staff will be on hand to provide support if required to either the parent or the child.

Handovers – Connect can assist with handovers to avoid children being caught in the middle of any conflict or ill feeling between the parties.

Letterbox Contact – We wish to ensure that children and young people can communicate with their parent in any way possible and it could be that this is a good starting point. This may include text messages, emails, video clips, video calls or something else that may work for an individual child.
